Wrapping Up

Hey guys, sorry for not making any new music blog articles. I’m very busy doing playing my Nintendo Switch. Besides, I hope you enjoy hearing this year’s music. Especially Ariana Grande’s fourth album, Sweetener and her upcoming fifth album’s lead single, Thank U, Next, has reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Not to mention Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next music video smashed YouTube’s all-time record for most views in the first 24 hours of release with a record of 50.3 million views. Congrats, Ari.

Also, Carrie Underwood has released her sixth album, Cry Pretty. Cry Pretty spawned 2 singles including a single with the same name and Love Wins. If you haven’t hear Carrie Underwood’s Cry Pretty, head on over to Spotify and stream that album. Plus, Shawn Mendes has release his third album without an album title. This album features a single, In My Blood. In addition to that, Jessie J has released her fourth album, R.O.S.E.. It was released in four parts starting on May 22 and finishing on May 25 with a part being released on each day.

Let’s not forget that Rita Ora announces her long waited second album called Phoenix and that album came out in November six years after her debut album, Ora, came out in 2012. And finally, Avril Lavigne has finally released her long waited sixth album lead single, Head Above Water, which came out in September and her long waited sixth album with the same name will be launched on February 2019. Anyway…

... and going somewhere else.

Folks, readers, music lovers...

It's been a long, sometimes thrilling, sometimes unpredictable 4 years...

Don't panic.

I'm not ceasing music commentary and opinions. I'll always have something to say about the industry I'm working my way into. That talk just won't be here. I am ending this site.

This "PM’s Music World" place is no longer my animated world. It is only a random music blog, after all. I wanted to focus on something else like Nintendo Switch as I am not a blogger. I've long given up the process of doing a post for every news story, or a recap every week or so. I'm quite content with waiting a little while and forming my thoughts on the recent music happenings, but I feel that it isn't enough. I feel it's time to move on.

The current plan is to have all things music commentary posted on my Twitter account, which is on Twitter. Obviously, there's way more to that place than just music talk like animation talk, so if you plan on following me there, be prepared for that. It isn't a "news" place, and I will post these sort-of roundups sporadically. When I'm ready, when I'm up for it. Writing about what's going on in music right now has always been fun, but variety will always been a hobby. Much like my 5 years on Blogger, it isn't my career or future. It is only a thing I enjoy on the side.

I started this blog back in August 2014. What was happening then? We came off of a strong 2009-2013 with stuff like Come & Get It and The Way, but that year was kind of bogged down by random capitalism regarding of music like overplaying radio. During this time, we were awaiting the next mainstream music in the form of something like Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes. In August 2014, I was doing something for promoting Taylor Swift’s 1989 album. I had started my now defunct blog in 2013 as soon as Vevo was on the rise since 2010. Personal issues and circumstances had affected my relationships during the music industry right now, and I had spent many thoughts simply doing general analyzations. Then in 2014, I had switched over to this blog as my 2013 blog was shut down and during that same year determined my major. Some complications have made the process longer, hence me getting out of there just now!

Over four years later, the music industry has both changed and stayed the same in many ways. It's always been a lot to take in, it's never easy to keep up with. When not doing my blog or personal projects, or doing other life things, I'd come here and talk music. It's been fun, but exhausting. Capitalizing on mainstream music and the lack of things that could’ve been staying locally was particularly climactic, hence me whittling down the amount of posts. Now that it and my day of music blogging in this blog are over, a new life has begun. Personal writing will take the center stage, but as someone who's currently forming a path into music, you'll always hear something about the medium from me.

That's not over. This place, and the older me... the older, stressed, busy me... That's over. The door has been closed.

Until then, see you all guys, next time. Peace out.

Demi Lovato Hospitalized After Drug Overdose

Lovatics, we've got some big events going on.

First of all, on July 24, the Sorry You're Sorry singer was hospitalized after possible drug overdose.

Then on July 25, Demi Lovato is reciving well wishes from her friends and fans after she was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital 3 days ago following an apparent overdose. So shortly after the news of her hospitalization, Ariana Grande tweeted her support to the hot pop star writing, "I love u @ddlovato."

In addition to that, Joe Jonas showed his support, tweeting, "Like all of you I am thinking of @DDLovato right now. She needs our prayers and support. We all know how strong you are Demi. #prayfordemi."

Also, Lady Gaga lovingly wrote, "We should wrap our arms of love around Demi Lovato. I am so happy you're alive. Thank God. If I know my monsters as well as I belive I do, we all wish you self-compassion and inner peace. And my you recive the love so many have you. #ImCOnfidentInDemi Demi, I love you."

Wow, that was so nice of her. I bet Ms. Demetria will be happy about that. Let's continue.

Flash forward to today where Demi Lovato 911 call "No sirens please' and let's talk about what CNN has to say about this. Take it, CNN.

CNN: "Demi Lovato 911 call: 'No sirens please'
By Lisa Respers France, CNN

(CNN)"We just need to get somebody out here."

Audio of the 911 call for singer Demi Lovato underscores the seriousness of the star's recent medical emergency.
A source close to Lovato's family told CNN the singer was hospitalized Tuesday as the result of an apparent drug overdose.
Demi Lovato stable and recovering after apparent overdose
CNN has acquired a seemingly redacted recording of a 911 call related to Lovato's emergency.
The male 911 operator on the recording is heard gathering information and asks the female caller if she's with "the patient."
"I was, I'm downstairs. There are other people [who] went in," the unidentified caller can be heard saying. "We just need to get somebody out here."
Seemingly out of a desire for privacy, the caller tells the dispatcher, "Wait, no sirens please, right?"
"No, no, this is a medical emergency. I don't have control over that," the dispatcher responds. "This is definitely a medical emergency and we need to get there as fast as possible."
Lovato has been open over the years about her struggles with sobriety.
What Demi Lovato has said about sobriety and mental health
A source close to Lovato told CNN the singer will seek drug abuse treatment following her hospitalization."

Thanks, CNN. With Demi Lovato feeling better after hospitalized, she might be working on her next album for 2019. Her seventh album and maybe a Sober music video.

Whd you think of Demi Lovato getting hospitalized after drug overdose? Sound off!

June – July Roundup

You know... I did say in the previous roundup/recap that I plan on doing these once a month, but my schedule cleared up a little bit, so I decided to… I shall say, sneak one out? Anyways, the June-July roundup is here!

First up, last month, we have Ariana Grande dropping The Light Is Coming featuring Nicki Minaj. So far, The Light Is Coming features production from the one and only Pharrell Williams. The Light Is Coming is in fact the second Ariana/Nicki collab to arrive on the week of June 20 and recently, Nicki Minaj shared Bed from her upcoming album, Queen, which of course features more Ariana-pop-hook perfection. The music video is directed by Dave Meyers who directed the No Tears eft To Cry music video. This is part of the Ariana/Nicki collab which started in 2014 with Jessie J’s Bang Bang.

This along with the second single that I’ll be talking about later is set to appear on Ariana Grande’s fourth album Sweetener, due to release on August 17. To be honest, I never like The Light Is Coming and Bed. They both suck. Plus, Nicki Minaj is stupid. On the brighter note, The Light Is Coming is not a single. The second single off of Sweeter will be titled God Is Woman and I’ll be discussing it later. Right now, I’ll discuss last month’s music news that I forgot to talk about called Sober.

Here it is, Sober. Now then, on June 22, we have Sober which is Demi Lovato’s 2018 single. Soon after she featured in Christina Aguilera’s Fall In Line, Demi Lovato opens up about relapse on candid single Sober.

Now according to CNN, “Demi Lovato has released a new single that reveals a heartbreaking setback in her road to recovery from addiction.

In her new single, titled "Sober," a candid Lovato admits to suffering a relapse. Her song comes just weeks after she celebrated six years of sobriety.

"To the ones who never left me, we've been down the road before. I'm so sorry. I'm not sober anymore," she sings in the tune.

Lovato has always been an open when it comes to her mental health and struggles with substance abuse.

In the past, Lovato has spoken candidly in various interviews about her use of cocaine and addiction to alcohol, as well as her struggle with an eating disorder.

"Sober" does not reveal the nature of Lovato's relapse, but she sings, "I'm sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again. I want to be a role model but I'm only human."

Lovato released "Sober" on Thursday.

In an Instagram post, Lovato teased the track with a clip of a lyric video and a short caption that read, "My truth."

Despite Lovato's struggles, she put a happier foot forward on Wednesday, sharing a selfie with a caption that assured fans she's "happy and free."

In her song, Lovato adds, "I'm sorry that I'm here again. I promise I'll get help."”

Nice, now let’s talk about Rita Ora’s 2018 single, Girls.

Now let’s talk about Rita Ora’s Girls which is came out on May 11, 2018. The collaboration was announced on 4 May. Rita Ora described the song as an "empowering anthem":

"These past few years I've been so inspired by all the strong women I've seen who aren't afraid to be themselves. For those who aren’t afraid to rule the world, this is our anthem. A celebration of love. And of course, thank you to all the fellow boss women who so kindly graced this song with me — each representing who they are and where they are from [...]"

Girls is a pop song that comprises a hip hop-influenced beat. The music video for Girls was released on 6 June 2018 and it was directed by Helmi. Now with Rita Ora’s Girls were done, let’s move on to Ariana Grande’s God Is A Woman.

Here it is, God Is A Woman the second single off of Sweetener. The single was released on July 13, 2018. "God Is a Woman" was first teased in a scene in the music video for lead single "No Tears Left to Cry", which displayed what appears to be a working track listing for the upcoming album. According to Wikipedia, “Grande confirmed the title on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 1, 2018. On June 27, Grande revealed that the song will become the official second single from her upcoming album. She initially announced on Twitter that the song would be released on July 20. However, she later confirmed the release date as July 13.” I absolutely loved that song. God Is A Woman was like the second woman anthem single after 2016’s Dangerous Woman.  I also loved the music video too. The gophers screaming is really funny. I hope the single will reach number 1 on a specific US chart. I mean, No Tears To Cry has reached number 1 on the US Mainstream Top 40 chart. So I was expecting to do the same thing for God Is A Woman.

By the way, the official music video was released later the same day. It was directed by Dave Meyers and features a biblical passage spoken by Madonna. The video pays homage to The Last Judgement, The Creation of Adam, Remus and Romulus, astronomy, female genitalia, and other visual imagery, as well as Greek mythology. Wow, Ariana Grande really loved Dave Meyers. But I was expecting to see another director like Hannah Lux Davis to direct Ariana Grande’s next music video. Oh well. I’d love to see Hannah Lux Davis directing another Ariana Grande music video though. But that’s for another day.

Now that God Is A Woman is out of the way, we’ll have more music related articles including Carrie Underwood, Sabrina Carpenter and much, much more. So stay tuned.

Christina Aguilera Is Back After 6 Years Of No Music

Legend X is back, Fighters and this month we’re talking about 2 new Christina Aguilera singles this month. First up, we have the first single which was out on May 3 called Accelerate.

Now then, as you may know that Accelerate will be a lead single from first new album in 6 years. Wow, 6 years. Anyway, she has dropped Accelerate and a new music video on May 3. So far, after years of promising fans that new music was on the way, the 37-year-old single finally came through on May 3 by dropping the initial single off of her first new album in six years, Liberation. I bet streaming music will love Christina Aguilera because streaming is the future and we need veterans like Britney Spears in streaming music. Screw radio, streaming music and music videos ftw.

Accelerate is a laid back R&B gem that mixes her powerhouse vocals with rap verses from Ty Dolla Sign and 2 Chainz.

“C’mon babe, pci up the speed,” she sings in the suggestive song. “Stamina. Fill me up. Thats what I need.”

“I love you. I know you’ve been waiting,” Christina Aguilera said in a video on social media Wednesday, one of many she’s been putting out in anticipation of the new music. “It needed to be perfect for you. For me. I’m ready. It’s time. I’m finally feeling liberated.”

“I feel in life when you get to a place where you feel so comfortable and so routine, then you know you need to stop and start from scratch,” she said in another.

Liberation will arrive in full June 15 according to People Music. Among the songs on the 15-track album is a duet with Demi Lovato that both singers teased back in March. Nice. That’s where I discuss right now.

Enter the second single I’ll be talking about as the next subject called Fall In Love. In this single, it features Demi Lovato. The music video for Fall In Line came out 2 days ago on May 23.

According to Entertainment Weekly, “If you ever wondered what Christina Aguilera was willing to do to save her songstress sister Demi Lovato from the clutches of the patriarchy, you’ll find the answer in the pair’s new music video.

Aguilera unveiled the powerful clip for her latest single “Fall In Line” Wednesday afternoon, immersing fans in a stylized world where masked, masculine figures hold her and Lovato, her partner on the duet, captive. The feminist anthem’s lyrics compliment the visuals quite well, as Aguilera and Lovato sing in the name of liberating women from patriarchal shackles as their characters literally do just that.” Wow, it’s nice to see Demi Lovato featured in a Christina Aguilera single. That’s because Demi Lovato was born in 1992 and Genie In A Bottle came out in 1992. 1992 and 1999 are both 90s years. Let’s continue.

“The clip, directed by photographer and filmmaker Luke Gilford, opens on an image of two girls — one with blonde hair, the other a brunette — playing in a serene field. But, the placid scene is soon revealed to be a dream envisioned by an imprisoned Aguilera, who’s locked up in an underground facility and forced to perform her choral art by a legion of faceless male figures,” Entertainment Weekly continued, “The narrative evolves to reveal Lovato’s character as a prisoner, too, and the two work together to free themselves and escape to the sun-kissed land above.”

“The “Fall In Line” video lands three days after Aguilera and Lovato performed the song live for the first time at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, where the crowd leapt to its feet for a rousing standing ovation — including a particularly glowing reaction from Tyra Banks.”

Entertainment Weekly replied, “Following “Accelerate” and the promotional ballad “Twice,” “Fall In Line” lands as the second official single from Aguilera’s upcoming eighth studio album Liberation, due out June 15. Aguilera is set to perform the track on her upcoming Liberation Tour (her first traveling concert series in a decade) later this year.

Watch the just-released music video for the powerful track above. Liberation is available for pre-order here.”

Wow, that is great. I’m look forward to hear Accelerate and Fall In Love featuring Demi Lovato. I’m super excited to hear Liberation when it will arrive on Spotify June 15.

What do you think? Are you excited for Christina Aguilera’s Liberation? Are you excited for Accelerate and Fall In Line? Sound off below!

Recap: Celine Dion Revived From Ashes

Hey guys, I’m really sorry for the lack of new blogging. I’m just not a good blogger and I’m not good at typing different things. Anyway, Celine Dion is back and this time, we have a new single from her called Ashes.

Ashes, according to Wikipedia, “is a song recorded by Canadian singer Celine Dion for the Deadpool 2 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). It was released as the lead single on 3 May 2018, along with a music video starring Deadpool, which went viral immediately after the release. According to David Leitch, who directed both the film and the music video, the song is a part of the plot and the theme of the movie, instead of just being a fun music video to tease the release.”

In a music video released on 3 May 2018,” Wikipedia continued, “Dion performs the song on a stage in an empty theater, while slow-motion footage from Deadpool 2 is interspersed throughout. Halfway through, a string quartet appears on stage, as does Deadpool, who accompanies Dion's performance with an interpretive dance routine. The clip ends with Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, applauding Dion, but informing the singer that she'll have to shoot the video again because her performance was too good.” Wow, that was really interesting. It’s good to see Celine Dion back and the 2018 single was amazing. Remember that this is for the movie, Deadpool 2, not for radio. Let’s continue.

"This is Deadpool 2, not Titanic," Deadpool cracks. "You're at like an 11, we need to get you down to a five, five-and-a-half tops. Just phone it in". Dion responds, "Listen, this thing only goes to 11. So beat it, Spider-Man". Deadpool then laments that he should have asked NSYNC instead,” Wikipedia replied, “The music video was directed by David Leitch, who also directed Deadpool 2. Reynolds revealed that the dance routine was performed by Yanis Marshall, a professional choreographer and dancer. On 7 May 2018, 20th Century Fox released an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the "Ashes" music video. As of 25 May 2018, the music video has been viewed over 25 million times on Dion's YouTube channel.”

Earlier this month, in a good clip for Good Morning America, on May 3, an iconie special guest debuts her new single, which also features a certain anti-hero, who has a new movie coming out later this month which I talked about earlier.

Hello ‘Good Morning America,’ I’m Celine Dion, and I’m so excited to share my new single and music video with you,” the icon said, introducing her new video. “It’s very, very special to me, I hope you enjoy.”

Like only the legend can as she belts out her song, “Ashes” in the clip, but it features someone, who’s currently becoming an icon in his own right – Deadpool. This music video is surprisingly touching (Not what you would expect from Deadpool), as out buddy Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) sits in a theater watching the singer perform, seemingly thinking about his love Vanessa (Morena Maccarin.)

In the middle of the clip, you see some old photos of him before he became Deapool, spending quality time with his lady love.

Wow, awesome music video. Remember that I hate celebrities. I know that most singers like Celine Dion are celebrities. I don’t like non-music celebrities. But I will always support music star even if they're celebrities.

Next time on PM’s Music World, I’ll be talking about more music including Radio Disney Awards, Vevo and of course, rock music. So stay tuned.

5 Seconds Of Summer Announce New Album Youngblood Out On June 22nd!

You said it folks. The Australian pop-rock band, 5 Seconds Of Summer has finally announced their brand new album and it’s coming out soon!

The guys, Luke Hemming, Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood and Micheal Clifford, had been dropping clues all over social media earlier this month on April 9th since they released their comeback single Want You Back and we finally have an album name and drop date!

Youngblood will be out on June 22nd just a few months before the launch of their summer tour. Pretty nice. Let’s hope pop music pay more attention to 5 Seconds Of Summer this summer. Let’s move on.

“Growing up is what we had to do on Youngblood,” Luke Hemming shared in a statement. “Seven years as a band may seems like a long time, but we were teenagers when we started. We had to look at each other and say, ‘Are we going to stop now, or do this forever? Because if we continue, then we have to go farther than we ever have before.’”

The band’s summer tour, called “The Meet You There Tour”, will launch on August 27th and with each ticket, you’ll also get a copy of Youngblood. How cool is that?

Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, April 12 at 10AM local time at LiveNation.com. That was last Friday.

Anyway, I’m super excited to new music from 5 Seconds Of Summer. I love their 2015 single, Hey Everybody. It was a really awesome song. I’m looking forward to see this year’s music from this band.

What do think of the upcoming Youngblood album from 5 Seconds Of Summer? Sound off!

Ariana Grande Has No More Tears Left To Cry

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of new articles for a while this month. Anyway, Ariana Grande is back for an all new single called No Tears Left To Cry. So far, the music video is on YouTube yesterday and garnered 4 million views so far. Now the singer has reached 22 million subscribers on YouTube. Pretty impressive.

Now that the singer released No Tears Left To Cry on Thursday night, just days after teasing at she was gearing up to release new music, on Tuesday, the Dangerous Woman singer tweeted a to-the-point, "missed you." She then followed up with a message that teased the new song's title which was No Tears Left To Cry, written upside-down.

The tweet turned out to be a tease of what fans would see in the music video, which features the R&B singer in gravity-defying conditions. The music video is directed by Dave Meyers.

The song marks something of a grand return for the singer.

Her last studio album, Dangerous Woman was released in 2016.

In May 2017, a suicide bomber carried out an attack in Manchester, England, just as one of Ariana Grande's concert was letting out. So far, 22 people, including many children, died and close to 60 were injured.

So Ariana Grande suspended her tour and wrapped up the final leg in September.

After keeping a fairly low profile following her tour's end, she resurfaced at March For Our Lives last month as she performs onstage in that same place in Washington, DC.

While no release date has been set for the singer's new album, after the release of No Tears Left To Cry, the location on her Twitter biography changed to "Honeymoon Ave," leading some to speculate that could be the title.

This upcoming record will be her fourth studio album.

Nice, I'm really exciting for Ariana Grande's upcoming fourth album. I wonder if Honeymoon Avenue will be her fourth album's title? You'll find out.

What do think? Are you excited for Ariana Grande's fourth album? Are you excited for No Tears Left To Cry? Sound off below!

Recap: Dolores O'Riordan, The Cranberries Singer, Dead at 46 On January 15

Hey everybody, I found out that on January 15 of this year, the lead singer of the band called The Cranberries has died at the age of 46. The lead singer’s name is Dolores O’Riordan and she is the lead singer of the Irish band which is The Cranberries. It appears that Dolores O’Riordan has died at the age of 46. I mean, why do people died these days? I mean, Dolores O’Riordan is insanely hot. But why did Dolores O’Riordan die this year? I guess people got tired of alive and stick with dead as alive has declined these days. Blame self-destruction and capitalism goes by repeats and negative. It looks like music going by realism and positive has declined even with streaming as music moves on to repeats and computer. But that’s not I talk about. The real cause of death has to be none other than Billboard. So take it away, Billboard.

“Cranberries Singer Dolores O'Riordan Dies at 46

1/15/2018 by Associated Press

Dolores O’Riordan, lead singer of Irish band The Cranberries, has died. She was 46.

O’Riordan died in London, where she was recording, publicist Lindsey Holmes said.

“No further details are available at this time,” Holmes said, adding that the singer’s family was “devastated” by the news.

Formed in Limerick, Ireland at the end of the 1980s, The Cranberries became international stars in the '90s with hits including “Zombie” and “Linger” that fused the alternative rock edge with Celtic-infused pop tunefulness.

Irish President Michael D. Higgins said O’Riordan and the band “had an immense influence on rock and pop music in Ireland and internationally.”

Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old.

Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time. Full Statement: https://t.co/L8K98BFpSM pic.twitter.com/ADEY51Xnwe
— The Cranberries (@The_Cranberries) January 15, 2018

“To all those who follow and support Irish music, Irish musicians and the performing arts, her death will be a big loss,” he said in a statement.

O’Riordan was The Cranberries’ chief lyricist and co-songwriter, and her powerful, sometimes wailing, voice was key to the band’s distinctive sound.

The group’s 1993 debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? sold millions of copies and produced the hit single “Linger.”

The follow-up, No Need to Argue, sold in even greater numbers and contained “Zombie,” a howl against Northern Ireland’s violent Troubles that topped singles charts in several countries.

The band released three more studio albums before splitting up in 2003. O’Riordan released a solo album, Are You Listening, in 2007, and another, No Baggage, in 2009.

The members of The Cranberries reunited that year, releasing the album Roses in 2012.

The Cranberries released the acoustic album Something Else in 2017 and had been due to tour Europe and North America. The tour was cut short because O’Riordan was suffering from back problems.

In 2014, O’Riordan was accused of assaulting three police officers and a flight attendant during a flight from New York to Ireland. She pleaded guilty and was fined 6,000 euros ($6,600).

Medical records given to the court indicated she was mentally ill at the time of the altercation. After her court hearing O’Riordan urged other people suffering mental illness to seek help.

O’Riordan is survived by her ex-husband, the former Duran Duran tour manager Don Burton, and their three children.”

Wow, that is sad. Poor Dolores O’Riordan. Soon, people listening to music started to lose evolution/positive/moving forward/realistic/music video/online and instead rely on repeats/negative/pop/celebrities/radio/big name producers/charts/number 1/wrong/change and slowly started destroying people listening to music left and right. I mean, people listening to music got tired of good stuff like people watch music videos online and rock music and stick with overplaying repeats like radio and NickMusic just to make money and they’re hurting America. This is why I hate today’s America like kids is America’s demographic and bad is extremely popular. So it looks like the only way is inventions. I miss America goes by variety and America is great. Stupid today's America. Anyway, moving on.

Let’s about The Cranberries’s Twitter account about the loss of Dolores O’Riordan. So take it away, Twitter.

We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores. She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started the Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today.
Noel, Mike and Fergal
— The Cranberries (@The_Cranberries) January 15, 2018

Thanks, Twitter. RIP Dolores O’Riordan 1971-2018
