Avril Lavigne Reveals Her Year-Long Battle With Lyme Disease

Now, as you may know that Avril Lavigne has discussed her battle with Lyme disease. So let's discuss why Avril Lavigne has diagnosed with Lyme disease. Well then, let's check it out.

It appears that the Canadian singer has revealed to People magazine that she was bedridden for five months after contracting Lyme disease. That's right. Lyme disease. In fact, a fan Twitter account posted a direct message from Avril Lavigne before focusing on the mystery intensified in December when she solicited prayers, saying she was "having some health issues."

"I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk, and I couldn't move," she told the magazine. "I thought I was dying." Now, as I was saying, what is Lyme disease? Let's find out.

Lyme disease is a bacterial illness carried by ticks that affects the skin, joints and nervous system. It can be treated with antibiotics. On Wednesday, "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Yolanda Foster, who is also struggling with Lyme disease, reached out to Avril Lavigne to offer her support.

Yolanda's Twitter account has tweeted, "Love my friend and fellow Lyme warrior @AvrilLavigne for sharing her story #chroniclymedisease  #WeMustFindACure #AffordableForAll". Aw, that was nice. Let's continue. Shall we?

Also, Avril Lavigne believes that she was bitten by a tick last spring. What followed was months of lightheadedness and lethargy that doctors were initially unable to diagnose.

The 30-year-old pop-turned-soon-to-be-rock singer said she recuperated in her Ontario home, where her husband, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, would use tour breaks to care for her and her mother moved in to assist.

"There were definitely times I couldn't shower for a full week because I could barely stand," she told People. "It felt like having all your life sucked out of you."

I be in my opinion on why you should be afraid of Lyme disease.

After her direct message about her health went viral, Avril Lavigne was inundated with concern from fans.

"The get-well messages and videos they sent touched me so deeply," she said.

Now declaring herself "80 percent better," this year, Avril Lavigne is releasing a new single this month to support the 2015 Special Olympics and says that being ill was a "wake-up call" that has given her a new perspective.

"I really just want to enjoy life from here on out," she said.

Cool. I'm happy that Avril Lavigne is 80 percent better. When Avril Lavigne performed with antibiotics, she will be feeling better as soon as possible.

So it looks like the #Pray4Avril hashtag trended on Twitter back in December when fans heard Avril Lavigne was dealing with an undisclosed health issue according to Huffington Post. Now, the singer is opening up about her battle with Lyme disease in the recent issue of People magazine.

After months of feeling lethargic and lightheaded, Avril Lavigne learned she had severe Lyme disease, which she believes was from a tick bite last spring. She was bedridden for five months and, although she is "80 percent better" now, it was a rough road.

I bet Avril Lavigne revealed she had health problems in December when a fan direct messaged her asking if she was working on a new studio album. Rumors circulated that was she pregnant or in rehab.

Well, at least she is feeling fine. Next up, Fly reaches the Billboard chart at number 1 at the Billboard Hot 100 when promote the upcoming single correctly, then debut at number 1 on the Hot Digital song chart and have the music video gained so many views on Vevo even surpassing Girlfriend and play this song a gajillion times on the radio throughout summer 2015. Voila, Fly is now Avril Lavigne's chart topping single of the 2010s decade. I'm so exciting for Avril Lavigne's long waited comeback. Let's hope Avril Lavigne will be heading back on her feet once she is feeling better. Stay strong, Avril. Keep holding on (not the song from 2006, a good message).
