Now then, here they are: Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly, The
Weeknd, ASAP Rocky, Nicki Minaj, Demi Lovato, Pharrell Williams, Macklemore
& Ryan Lewis, and Twenty One Pilots.
In addition, Kanye West is set to receive the Michael Jackson
Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs, and although nothing is confirmed, he is
expected to perform in support of that. “The 2015 #VMA performers in 3…2…1!
Watch them this Sunday at 9/8c on MTV,” MTV tweeted on its Twitter account.
Now then, I saying that, I was really disappointed at the
performers. Nothing but pop and rap/hip-hop. Why can’t VMA performers include
rock stars like Pop Evil? MTV, why are you still using
pop/rap-hip-hop/electronic? You’re supposed to use mainstream music in general
like rock music and Carrie Underwood. In addition, the performers did not
include Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea, Rihanna or Selena Gomez. Neither is Katy
Perry or Carrie Underwood. I wish Carrie Underwood returns to the VMAs and
performs Smoke Break at the 2015 VMAs. But no, 2015 VMAs did not include Carrie
Underwood performing Smoke Break. Ditto Rihanna, Britney Spears and Iggy
Azalea. I bet MTV is screwing up Carrie Underwood’s crossover career for pop.
Not only that, why is Justin Bieber is performing at the
VMAs? If Carrie Underwood replace Justin Bieber at the VMAs, then she will do
fine at the VMAs. Seriously, Justin Bieber do not work well and neither is
Nicki Minaj. At least, Pharrell Williams, Demi Lovato and Macklemore & Ryan
Lewis made it. But not Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande or Carrie Underwood. MTV
blew it.
Overall, MTV needs to take notes from the internet and pay
attention to variety like rock music and Britney Spears. Miley Cyrus is ruining
the advertising for the VMAs. The performers should’ve been advertised for the
VMAs. 2014 VMAs got it right. Why can’t 2015 VMAs do the same thing? Well then,
if I think about next year’s VMAs host, I would have to go with Carrie
Underwood because Carrie Underwood is a perfect country singer to host the 2016
VMAs and Carrie Underwood is a much better role model than Miley Cyrus.
Curse you, Miley Cyrus and today's VMAs.
