Britney And Katy Singles Were Both Dropped Right Now

This is it, the two female label primates, Britney Spears and Katy Perry were releasing 2 new singles today. First up, Britney Spears.

It appears that Britney Spears finally released her 2016 single, Make Me (Oooh) after a month of delay and so far, the single has reached number 1 on ITunes in the US. Finally. It's about time to bring back Britney Spears is popular in the US appearance. Anyway, here's what Britney Spears has to say about this tweet on her Twitter account.

Nice. And remember, Britney Spears is commercial, not natural, commercial. End of story. Let's continue.

Since there's set to be one seriously fierce battle in the charts as pop divas Britney Spears and Katy Perry both dropped surprise new singles on the same day.

So, pop music fans have been left giddy with glee as Katy Perry unveiled her new Rio 2016 single Rise, while Britney Spears released the first single from her forthcoming ninth studio album, Make Me (Oooh) which I mentioned earllier.

Anyway, as you all know that the original pop princess Britney Spears, 90s kids might say, is currently in the lead with her track sitting pretty at number one in the ITunes chart (as I already talked about earlier), hitting the top spot within hours of its release.

The relatively slow but beat-heavy and catchy track features up-and-coming rapper G-Eazy, and is Brit’s first new single since her collaboration with Iggy Azalea on Pretty Girls last summer.

Fans are chomping at the bit for her new album, too, which she’s also teased with bits of another new song Private Show and an eye-popping, sexy clip.

And it certainly looks like old (or young) Britney is back, as the cover for the single sees her looking incredibly ripped with THOSE famously toned abs on display in a skimpy white sheet-like outfit against a desert backdrop.

The music star was left incredibly humbled by Make Me’s speedy jaunt to the top spot on the charts, as she retweeted a grab of the list, adding: “This is an incredible feeling. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! #MakeMe.”

So there you have it, Britney Spears has unveiled her new track Make Me (Oooh), her first since last year and the first from her ninth studio album.

Oh, one more thing. Britney Spears will be performing her new 2016 single at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. If she performs this one quite well, then this will reach number 1 on any US Billboard making it her first US number 1 in 5 years. OK, let's move on to Katy Perry.

Meanwhile, Katy Perry’s motivational number Rise, which will be used in US network NBC’s coverage of the Games, is also set for a rise in the charts reaching number 2 on US ITunes.

The up-tempo and typically Roar-esque song includes the lyrics: “When the fire’s at my feet again, and the vultures all start circling/They’re whispering, ‘You’re out of time,’ but still I rise.”

Speaking about her reasons behind the song, and its relevance to the Rio 2016 Olympics, she said: “This is a song that’s been brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface.

“I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite. I know that together we can rise above the fear – in our country, and around the world. Now then, here's what Katy Perry has to say about Rise.

OK, it looks like Katy Perry has unveiled her new single for the Rio 2016 Olympics NBC coverage, Rise.

“I can’t think of a better example than the Olympic athletes, as they gather together in Rio with their strength and fearlessness, to remind us how we ALL can come together, with the resolve to be the best we can be.

“I hope this song can inspired us to heal, unite, and rise together.”

Katy Perry’s new single – her first since 2014’s This Is How We Do from her 2013 Prism album – has gone into the ITunes chart in the top 10, and is expected to head for the top five and it's going to reach number 2 there.

Which one's better?

So it looks like Britney Spears and Katy Perry both return to the pop scene and drop singles the same night. That sounds intresting. Especially with Britney Spears and Katy Perry set for pop charts battle as they both drop surprise new singles on the SAME day. This means, 2 of the most prominent pop stars in the realm have gifted us with new singles this year as Katy Perry is again involved just like 2013, 3 years ago. Give us more Britney, pop music. Why? Because Britney Spears is not a thing in the past. Also, there's one little note that it feels very “on trend” for the pop scene in 2016, as Make Me (Oooh) is produced by Burns, feels of the same ilk as recent offerings from Selena Gomez or Zayn Malik. Also, the lyric “like you got a job to do” in which delivered with a perfect trademark Britney drawl echoing recent hits Work, by Rihanna, and Work From Home from Fifth Harmony! Let'em hear it.

What do you think?
