BIG NEWS ALERT, BIG NEWS ALERT, BIG NEW ALERT! This is a big announcement to make...
*taking a deep breath*
Whew. Anyway, Yesterday, I'm watching MTV Live and here's what happened...
Listen...
As you may know that VH1 Classic will be replaced by a new MTV family channel called MTV Classic. You know what's MTV Classic. Now then. let me explain.
MTV Classic is a new MTV channel that will launch on August 1 tying in to MTV's 35th anniversary. MTV Classic will be part of the MTV family which includes the original MTV, in which launched in 1981 35 years ago, MTV2, MTV Hits and, now, MTV Live. MTV Jams was also part of the MTV family. But it was replaced by BET Jams. But that's not all.
MTV Classic is coming to the US on August 1 since MTV Classic is now on UK and Ireland as well as Australia and New Zealand, Italy, and Poland and now it's coming to the US in 12 days. Sounds exciting, huh? I do belive that MTV Classic will air a combination of programming that VH1 Classic already has like Rock Fest and Live From Daryl's House as well as older MTV shows like Daria and Pimp My Ride. In addition, it might even include older music videos from 1979-2004 as well as today's music videos like Demi Lovato music videos. Pretty cool.
Since VH1 Classic will soon be replaced by MTV Classic at the start of August 2016, on MTV's 35th anniversary, MTV will now include 5 MTV series channels. MTV, MTV2, MTV Hits, MTV Live and now, MTV Classic will all be part of the entire MTV family. Soon, there might be an MTV streaming music service where you can stream music. This will be like Vevo and Spotify except with mostly mainstream music like pop music rather than the whole popular music industry like country music.
Wow, sounds like Viacom plans to rebrand VH1 Classic as MTV Classic on August 1, 2016, the 35th anniversary of the original MTV's launch. Here's what the promo said about MTV Classic.
"On August 1, The Revolution Begins Again" "I Want My MTV Classic"
Nice, it will be be here very soon in 12 days.
What do you think?
