Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington Dies At Age 41

Parkymons, yes I know that’s the name of a Linkin Park fan, Parkymon. Anyway, Parkymons, I have some sad news...

On July 20, 2017, a devastating day for the lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington’s family, friends, and fans, as it was discovered the Linkin Park singer took his own life on Thursday morning.

TMZ reported that Chester Bennington’s body was found at his residence in Palos Verdes Estates in LA County on Thursday morning. The singer had hung himself and his body was discovered just before 9AM.

At the time of his death, Chester Bennington was 41 years old and married with 6 children from 2 different wives.

The rock band’s lead singer notoriously struggled with drugs and alcohol for years, and had previously admitted that he had considered committing suicide in the past because he had suffered abuse as a child at the hands of an older male.

As Linkin Park’s lead singer, Chester Bennington helped the band reach huge commercial success with their 200 debut album, Hybrid Theory. The band has had a string of hits over the years, including Faint, In the End and Crawling. They collaborated with Jay Z for the EP “Collision Course”, which produced the hit mashup, Numb/Encor”. The band's most recent album, One More Light, topped the Billboard 200 earlier this year.

Chester Bennington was very close with fellow rock star Chris Cornell, who also committed suicide by hanging in May of this year, and Chester Bennington even wrote an open letter to Chris Cornell on the day of Chris Cornell's suicide. Today would have been Chris Cornell’s 53rd birthday, which undoubtedly would have been a difficult time for the Linkin Park lead singer.

The news of Chester Bennington’s suicide sadly comes the same day that Linkin Park released it’s new music video for their latest single, Talking to Myself. Fans have flooded the comments of the video with their condolences and hopes that Chester Bennington will rest in peace.

Such a tragic end for such a remarkably talented and beloved musician. All of our thoughts and prayers are going out to his family, friends, and fans, during this extremely difficult time.

Ouch, Chester Bennington had died at age 41 and I was shocked. I guess underage people die young is on the rise these days. First Chris Cornell’s death, but now this. Why? How many underaged people dieds do we need these days? It’s getting old fast. This is what happens since America is very ignorant on variety because America don’t respect variety and stick with big repeats so they can make money. How will America ever getting America variety back? It’s so sad. I hope Parkymons mourn the loss of the Linkin Park singer. He is such a talented musician and yet people like kids don't respect good singers like him. People only like bad and avoid good so they can make money. How will music ever gonna think about MTV or streaming music videos if all music business does these days is radio and streaming audio. I want my people watch music videos online and MTV playing music videos back. Stupid change. Rant/ramble over.

R.I.P. Chester Bennington 1976-2017
