Would Carrie Underwood Be The 2016 VMAs Host This Year?

With the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on August 28, 2016 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, it would be cool to have Carrie Underwood gets to be the 2016 MTV VMAs host. Come to think of it, it would be so cool to have Carrie Underwood as the 2016 MTV MVAs host and perform a medley of Storyteller tracks like Church Bells in a pop mix for her pop audiences to enjoy. She can even threw in Taylor Swift in a mix and perform a pop mix of Miranda Lamert's Somethin' Bad and Tim McGraw's Highway Don't Care in the mix. That would be something that Carrie Underwood might be intrested in.

With Carrie Underwood's music video for Church Bells (great song by the way) released on May 10 and premiered on Good Morning America as well as attending to perform Church Bells at the 2016 CMT Music Awards tonight, we knew what Carrie Underwood might be thinking about. The MTV VMAs host. Carrie Underwood might be a perfect country star to attend as a MTV VMAs host. This will be the first time since 2007 where Carrie Underwood appears in the VMAs. So let's talk about what could happen at last year's VMAs.

Last year at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, Miley Cyrus was the host on August 30 and according to Wikipedia, "Due to a simulcast across ten Viacom networks, the 2015 ceremony's airing on the flagship MTV network alone had the lowest audience in the ceremony's 31-year history. According to Nielsen, it logged 5.03 million viewers only on MTV, 39% less than last year, while cumulative viewers drew 9.8 million with the nine other simulcasting networks. The lowest viewed one was in 1996, since Nielsen began tracking in 1994, with 5.07 million viewers. However, the show broke the "US Twitter record", being the most tweeted about non-sports program, with 21.4 million tweets delivered by 2.2 million people. It was also streamed live through the MTV app for authenticated users on mobile devices and television sets via iOS, Android and Chromecast. Through its website, viewers could also get to see un-aired audience shots and backstage coverage. mtvU aired a behind-the-scenes feed and MTV Hits went dark." She was the VMAs host and performed Dooo It and it was horrible.

According to Billboard's website, "Miley Cyrus Hosting the 2015 VMAs Was Like a Bad Trip." Not to mention, VMAs has criticized Miley Cyrus for "Glorifying Marijuana." Billboard ranks Miley Cyrus at number 8 as the second worst performance behind Twenty One Pilots and ASAP Rocky.

Billboard stated that "Rumor had it that Miley Cyrus was going to take the stage on Sunday night to perform in addition to hosting the VMAs, as well as announce a new album at the end of the ceremony. The pop star did her fans one better on the latter part — there is a new album, and it’s out now, for free! — but her night-closing performance came off as lackluster. Part of the reason is because “Dooo It” is an unfamiliar and altogether song. However, the butt-shaking, wigs-everywhere drag queen soiree came off as kitschy after so many meme-able TV set pieces. You win some, you lose some, eh Miley?"

If Carrie Underwood hosted at the VMAs and performed well, then MTV can turn around the VMAs and the music industry so the MTV business can turn around and fix the music industry by adding in more variety (including Carrie Underwood) and get rid of the unnecessary gimmicks like reality shows for no reason. This will be perfect for Carrie Underwood to attend the VMAs and become the host by being nice and respectful as well as better speech than what Miley Cyrus has done last year. If Carrie Underwood did right, then maybe MTV will get interested in the country singer and have the country superstar to make a pop album that is more mature and deep compared to pop stars like Beyonce. This might be Carrie Underwood's first pop album as well as her upcoming 6th album making it her first side-project to date. In addition, MTV will also promote more Carrie Underwood in the music realm even if Carrie Underwood's country music is for country market only. Carrie Underwood might be the perfect country star to make pop music by crossing over to pop as well as making the country singer's first pop album allowing her first pop hits to be marketed towards the pop realm only. Please make it happen.

What do you think? Are you exciting to see Carrie Underwood be the next MTV Video Music Awards host when the 2016 MTV VMAs arrives on August 30 if it's going to happen? Is this will be Carrie Underwood's VMAs comeback? Sound off below!
