Katy Perry Teases Swish Swish Music Video & It’s Packed With Celeb Cameos

As the Taylor vs. Katy feud continues around the same time Taylor Swift deleted all social media and Swifties freak out with theories. Anyway, Captain Katy is calling the shots in the new trailer for her music video for Swish Swish, which reveals an entire roster of famous friends gearing up for what might be a ‘hot mess’ of a basketball match, but really, what better way to carry out a music video for a song called Swish Swish than by some good ol’ competition on the court? Um, no. The song will flop because Taylor Swift is releasing her new music this Friday and that song will kick Swish Swish’s butt. Katy Perry really needs to release a better song off of her Witness album because Witness sold poorly and Katy Perry will lost her popularity to Taylor Swift. At least Katy Perry does look hot in her captain uniform. Well then, let’s continue.

In the teaser, Katy Perry stars as the Tigers team captain, along with Molly Shannon, who plays the Tigers’ coach. The Tigers face off against the Sheeps, in what may be in reference to the Swish Swish lyrics, as the hilarious coach Terry Crews attempts to take his team to victory, with Thor “the Mountain” Bjornsson pumping up the Sheeps as their captain. I personally think that video is gonna look stupid because I hate music videos going by product branding and sex. I want music videos to talk about heart and storytelling, not product branding and sex. You hear that, pop music? Let’s continue.

Many other famous faces will also be making cameos on each team, including Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz, Stranger Things' Gaten Matarazzo, YouTube star Christine Sydelko, basketball legend Bill Walton, and NFL commentator Rich Eisen, and we also got a tease of Nicki Minaj as herself, though she seems to be saving her grand appearance for the actual video. I would think it will be a disaster because 2014 was the peak of Katy Perry and this year’s music is doing so-so compared to her 2008-2014 career. Also, there’s still no high quality fully legit music videos that will gained hundreds of million views on YouTube. This is why Taylor Swift will own this video big time this weekend.

The video, directed by Dave Myers, sets up the showdown that Katy Perry is hyping up to be the “hottest mess in history”, as she took to social media to share the teaser, saying QUOTE, “COUNTDOWN TO CATASTROPHE #swishswish #thisweek”. Katy is no stranger to sharing the screen with costars, as seen from her 2011 music video for Last Friday Night, featuring a plethora of celebs, so we have no doubt that Swish Swish will shape up to be yet another Katy Perry classic. What do I think of this? No, it will flop because celebrities and radio don’t make the music what it sells these days and yet people buying music has to use celebrities/pop music/radio/big name producers/computer/bop/similar and it’s getting old fast. Sorry, KP. I’m waiting for the next Witness single thank you very much.

So let the countdown to catastrophe, celeb cameos, and one riveting ballgame commence, but for now, I want to hear all your thoughts on her new music video, after that, be sure to talk about if the rumors are true that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift will be performing together on the VMA stage next weekend. So get to talking down here in the comments below.
