Taylor Swift’s Traumatic Testimony During Groping Trial

Swifites, brace yourself.

5 days ago, Taylor Swift has officially taken the stand to testify her side of the groping case against a Colorado DJ as she recalls the traumatic event that left her in complete shock. Anyway, it’s been a long time coming for the Bad Blood singer to share her side of the story, and for the sake of all women, she’s letting her voice be heard.

On August 10, this marks the fourth day of the ongoing legal battle between Taylor Swift and Colorado DJ David Mueller, who she claims groped her bare butt during a meet and greet back in 2013, but on the same day also marks her first time being asked to take the stands.

Donning a floral summer dress, Taylor Swift was called up by David Mueller’s attorney Gabriel McFarland, where she was asked about her encounter with David while taking a photo together, to which she began detailing the traumatic experience by saying QUOTE, “It was a definite grab. A very long grab.” That’s why Taylor Swift has a butt. Why? Because she has a butt. You know everybody on the planet have a butt. Well, let’s continue.

When asked how long the alleged grab took place, the Blank Space singer responded by saying, “I don’t think it would be wise to estimate time in court, but I know it was long enough for me to be completely sure that it was intentional.” Then she was then asked further questions about the incident, including whether he grabbed her “bare” bottom, to which she responded, “yes”, and went into further detail, saying, “He stayed latched onto my bare ass cheek… I felt him grab onto my ass cheek underneath my skirt. The first couple of milliseconds I thought it must be a mistake, so I moved to the side very quickly so that his side would be removed from my ass cheek, but it didn’t let go.” I was right, she does talk about her butt. This is why I love female butts. Too bad that’s sexual harassment in the public. Let’s move on.

She was then asked if she tried to get away, to which Taylor Swift explained that it was a very shocking thing that has never happened to her before, and that “This was not something I had ever dealt with. I got as far away from him as I possibly could.”

Her mother Andrea Swift also took the stands yesterday, and even broke down as she recounted the details she was given by The Best Day singer just minutes after the incident occurred. Her mom started off by saying, “I knew what happened, I heard it from her, I heard it from my daughter's mouth. He sexually assaulted her, right there, that guy," as she pointed directly at Mueller. She then recalled the Picture To Burn singer coming up to her and saying, ‘Mom, a guy just grabbed my ass in the meet-and-greet’ and said that Taylor Swift also told her that the man was QUOTE, “with the radio station.”

She then broke down in tears as she recalled what Taylor Swift told her about Mueller taking part in the photo op, saying, “She couldn't believe that after he grabbed her, that she thanked them for being there. It was just destroying her that she said that...as a parent it made me question why I taught her to be so polite in that moment.”

Andrea Swift also revealed why they didn’t report the incident to the police then and there, saying that she didn’t want it to “define” The Red singer’s life, but that she was QUOTE, “…upset to the point where I wanted to vomit and cry at the same time.” It was shortly after that Andrea admitted that they felt it was imperative to let his employers know what happened. This is bad. We got to do something. Poor T.Swift.

More details of the trial are slowly trickling in, but until then, we’re only hoping for a promising outcome, not just for Taylor Swift, but for everyone keeping up who’s been affected by sexual assault. Wow, I do gotta believe that Taylor Swift relives traumatic experience in testimony during trial. Let’s continue.

Rightfully so, Taylor Swift’s testimony against the man she reveals groped her bare butt during a meet and greet in 2013 is sparking conversation and support amongst the Internet. Quotes from her testimony were released yesterday, and she garnered up loads of praise for her bold, powerful statements when questioned by Mueller’s attorney, from fans, celebrities and even people who aren’t fans of the singer.

Bits of Tay’s squad have shown their full support for the singer, including her good friend Lena Dunham who tweeted out her support following the testimony, writing QUOTE, “Proud of @taylorswift13 for her fierce & cutting testimony & her refusal to settle for being treated like property. Her example is powerful.” Hayley Williams of Paramore wrote, “@taylorswift13 thanks for standing up for women. Ilysm” and Nelly Furtado could absolutely relate, saying, “Been in several meet n' greets where radio staff attempt to cross lines. Love @taylorswift13 for fighting 4 women's safety in the workplace.” Good job, internet shows support for Taylor Swift amid trial. Keep up the good work.

Tay’s good friend Jamie King also tweeted out, “.@taylorswift13 is (insert curse word here) BRAVE. ALL deserve justice- to be heard, honored & respected. No matter race, creed, socioeconomic status, gender”. Many others came forward praising her for her quick whips back when asked questions like “aren’t you critical of your bodyguard, who didn’t put an end to what was happening?” to which she responded with, “I’m critical of your client sticking his hand under my skirt and grabbing my ass.” This is why I don’t like sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is not only bugging Taylor Swift, but also bothering us. Stupid, sexual harassment.

More fans wrote sweet and uplifting messages like, “It is SO important for sexual assault victims to be confident & stand up for what they KNOW happened & the Out Of The Woods singer is out there setting that example” and others, including author Dana Schwartz shared insight into what people should be taking into consideration, saying, “A few facts to remember about the Taylor Swift lawsuit today: 1. she's not there for attention, or wasting court resources: this DJ sued HER.”

The Internet was also LIVING for the post-it messages written in the window across the street from the court house by an office full of women, writing things like, “Haterz Gonna Hate”, “I Knew You Were Trouble”, and “Free Tay!” All this support has been overwhelming and most likely much appreciated by Taylor and her team, however there are many celebs who have yet to share their support and have been noticeably silent this week. I hope you think of her.

One news outlet claims that many feminists have come forth and shown their support, their voice, and have even physically marched for women alike. The outlet gave examples during Donald Trump’s disturbing misogynistic comments and even Kesha’s case against Dr. Luke to name a few examples, that celebrities have used their platform to spread light and support on problems we face, and shouldn’t be facing every single day. This is why I don’t trust adults don’t like each other. Adults don’t like each other is ruining there are more adults than kids these days. Stupid kids is better than adults.

But because this woman, who is currently taking a stand and asking for NO monetary benefit out of this, is, in fact, Taylor Swift, feminists have gone silent. Many have pointed out that because she is Taylor Swift, she just can’t win. When she donated money to Kesha’s court case, she was slammed by people like Demi Lovato, who tweeted back, “Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed.” When she tweeted her praise for women around the world who participated in the women’s march, she was slammed for not physically being there. No matter which side you stand on, it’s important to understand the real issue at heart, which is sexual assault, that should never be tolerated or silenced, no matter who you are… just something to think about!

But I’ve gotta hand it to Taylor Swift for her brave testimony and for speaking her mind when it may seem impossible or shameful for other victims of sexual assault to do so. Quite a force to be reckoned with! So right now I want to know all your thoughts on all the support Taylor Swift has received and why it is you think some of Hollywood may still be silenced. Hopefully, Taylor Swift will be releasing her sixth album next year and hopefully she will be releasing her fresh material ASAP. No more writing song about boys and anthem bop.

That do you think of this article? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments.
